Rock.It Boy Entertainment takes pride in presenting mosh-pit anthem masters DROWNING POOL with special guests KILL RHYTHM and SOUTHERN DEATH THREAT on Wednesday, June 11th at the Plaza Club in Vancouver. Advance tickets are available for $20 (plus service charges) at all Ticketmaster outlets or Scrape Records.

Dallas-based metal quartet DROWNING POOL has been described as Intense, dynamic, and full of seething rage. Their debut album Sinner was certified platinum within six weeks of its release while their first single, "Bodies," was one of the most frequently aired videos on MTV by a new band. Unfortunately the song, which was a dedication to their stage-diving mosh pit fans, was banned by several radio stations out of sensitivity and the fear that people would misconstrue its meaning in the wake of the September 11th attack on New York.

That did not stop the song or the band. "Bodies" was featured on several WWE pay-per-view events, EA Sports' Arena Football game, and used by Boston Red Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon and Houston Astros' Brad Lidge to accompany their walk from the bullpen. They reached out to an ever-greater audience with dynamic performances at Wrestlemania XVIII and Ozzfest during the summers of 2001 and 2002. Unfortunately, shortly after rousing) the crowd at Ozzfest in Indianapolis in 2002 (doing a duet with Ryan McCombs), vocalist Dave "Stage" Williams was found dead of natural causes on the tour bus. That still did not stop DROWNING POOL.

They are back, fronted by their old friend and dynamic singer Ryan McCombs, and touring with their third album Full Circle. This album contains songs like “Enemy” that embody the ferocity of their debut album, yet there is an even richer melodic quality to the writing and playing, that tell us that this band has still only just begun. As an example of things coming full circle, the group was invited to Baghdad by the USO on the fifth anniversary of 9/11 to play the song for a group of grateful, enthusiastic troops stationed there.

KILL RHYTHM is a pool of some real Vancouver talent, with players from Flybanger, Noise Therapy, Holly McNarland and other popular acts coming together in a full frontal assault of unstoppable rock. Their debut album has been described as heavy, dynamic, melodic riff rock flaunting big grooves and memorable choruses. These young men are well-armed with music and they plan to use it on you!

Southern fried rock from the north! Local outfit SOUTHERN DEATH THREAT is a new breed of metal with soulful, gritty vocals and impeccable timing. Get there early and you are guaranteed to be rocked to the core before the second act even hits the stage.
